Landmark day today – I have put together a simplified timetable and actually got to start running it! It didn’t start well – the 43XX moved two inches before hitting a dead section – two droppers I’d not soldered and which turned out not to be long enough either. Then I found 3 of 4 points I’d not tested needed
My son’s birthday today so an opportunity to run his Christmas and birthday presents! A video of the Class 800 and HST at Dawlish and a picture of the Class 800 at Newton Abbot You might notice that the station building doesn’t look much like Newton Abbot – it’s actually the one I started as part of Exeter St. Davids.
Here is a quickly taken video of two express trains passing through Dawlish – one the up Cornish Riviera and the down train seems to have come from the North West as it has a mixture of Great Western and LMS coaches. Not bad quality for a video taken on a phone! You can see videos of the old Dawlish
