March 2021 update for Dawlish in OO

Today I created a short video to show at the weekly Zoom call for my son’s school. I thought it would make good material for my March 2021 update for Dawlish in OO. Of course, I didn’t show the image below and hopefully none of them were too eagle-eyed when the video was playing! Since the last update I have

Devonian Railtour at Dawlish in OO

This post follows a trip to Dawlish last week where I saw the Devonian Railtour at Dawlish where I filmed it from the footbridge at Dawlish Warren. First though, a picture of Dawlish Warren footbridge made from a Modelux kit. It has been moved slightly on my railway, sitting just on the Dawlish side of where Red Rock will be,

First operating session!

Landmark day today – I have put together a simplified timetable and actually got to start running it! It didn’t start well – the 43XX moved two inches before hitting a dead section – two droppers I’d not soldered and which turned out not to be long enough either. Not bad quality for a video taken on a phone! You can see videos of the old Dawlish

Work began in April 2019 with the building of the baseboards which go around the walls of my Green Retreat (sized 8.5m x 3.5m). As the Dawlish boards are in front of the main fiddleyard, I really

Railway modeller article

Click here to view the full plan of the month article published in March 2012. I have to say that RM did a fabulous job with the text and schematic I sent them. They also included a three photos taken by my late father John Loader and one of mine from my time at Exeter University in the 1980s. Although
